All turkey permits are sold by lottery. Resident hunters should start apply for a permit in the first lottery to help insure in drawing a tag. Non Resident hunters may begin applying for their permits during the second lottery.

At Backwoods Whitetails, we do allot more than just hunt whitetails. With great knowledge of the property, the terrain, years of knowledge of the local turkey habits and travel patterns. We have some of the best Eastern wild turkey hunting around. We have a limited number of spots available to resident and nonresident hunters and we have 100% opportunity rates and a success rate of 98%. Our average tom weighs 22 to 24 lbs and they sport some pretty good spurs averaging in length from 1 to 1 1/2 inches. We have even harvested a couple birds with some 2 inch spurs. We also have an area that has a pretty good genetic line of bearded hens. From blind hunting to the typical cut and run calling techniques, we can help you succeed. Hunts are guided for those that need the help with their first turkey hunting adventure but, if you wish us to just point out the birds, your welcome to go it alone.
