and are looking to harvest that first wild turkey or whitetail deer or for the kids that just don't
have a place to hunt. Parents can contact Backwoods Whitetails to help take their child
hunting at NO COST to the child or parent. It is mandatory that a parent or adult participate in
the hunt with the child (unless a Backwoods guide is available). The cost of youth hunting
license and youth permits are not included in the youth program. It is the sole responsibility of
and is to be purchased by the parent of the participating youth hunter. Cost of a youth turkey
and deer tags are $10.00 and are by lottery process through the Illinois Department of
Natural resources. A resident hunting license only is also required and can be purchased for
$7.50. It is Mandatory that all children are to have completed a state approved hunter safety
course before being able to participate in any hunting activities. The parent or adult that
hunts with the child is required to have a valid Firearms Owners Identification Card. Slot
openings for the youth hunt are limited and anyone can inquire/apply in the hunting in the

Youth doe program, youth hunters from ages 17 and under (with a valid resident or non resident
archery tag) can contact Backwoods Whitetails to hunt in the scheduled Late Season Youth
Archery Hunt. NO BUCKS ARE ALLOWED TO BE HARVESTED AT THIS TIME!! All youth hunters
must be accompanied by an adult during their hunt and must have a valid hunting license, archery
permit and must have successfully completed a state approved hunter safety course. Cost of
Nonresident Archery Tags are $15.00 each and can be purchased over the counter.
Resident Illinois youth hunters that have a left over youth deer tag, a 1st season, a 2nd season
or a mid winter season firearm tag may participate in our Mid Winter Season Youth Firearm Hunt.
NOTICE: Late season tags must be for the county that they will be hunting in.
