| All properties at Backwoods Whitetails Outfitters are hunt ready with several tree stands already in place. We do however request that our hunters bring one of to instantly get on top of the action. Hunters can choose to bring either a portable Loc on stand & climbing stick, a ladder stand, a self climbing stand or ground blind. Again, we have several preset stands on each property that is already set up in prime and proven locations for harvesting trophy whitetails. We just know whitetail activity, though somewhat predictable, can change at the drop of a hat. Therefore sometimes the prime activity will be happening just a few yards out of range of one of our preset stands and good hunters know that they will need to immediately adjust their location for achieving success. So upon arrival we recommend one of our preset tree stands based on wind direction. Our intention is to always have enough preset stands site so that each hunter will be able to move about the property without having to set their own stand for the entire hunt. Hunters should only move with their own stand if / when the situation calls for it. Some additional reasons why we request that you bring your own stand are as follows: COMFORT Being able to sit in a tree stand for an entire day means comfort is factor #!1. With everyone hunter being of a different height, shape, weight and size? What may be comfortable to one hunter will be totally uncomfortable for another. As each everyone of us knows, a hunter will buy a stand based on his/her own personal need for comfort, safety & reliability. If a hunter is not comfortable in the stand, he/she will be constantly shifting their body to regain comfort. Therefore an uncomfortable hunter means a weary whitetail buck picking you off in the stand at great distances. Not to mention comfort is greatly needed to achieve the will to sit all day in the stand when it is important. SAFETY Even though we take every effort to make sure that each and every one of our stands are rock solid and safe. As hunters ourselves, we know just what it is like to feel more confident while hunting from our own set ups and equipment. So we totally understand and respect a situation when one of our hunters wants to hunt from one of their own stands. We know that individual is not only familiar with size of the stand platform that he/she is used to walking around on. But we also know that each hunter will relax while knowing the construction, durability and limitations of their own personal equipment. Therefore we can relax knowing our hunters are relaxed and feeling safe while being in high in a tree with the familiar comforts he/she is used to hunting out of back home. Thus it will make each and every day of hunting at Backwoods a relaxing adventure and our hunters can now focus on the hunt instead of being stressed from always wondering what just exactly what it is they are standing on. STAND PLACEMENT: Each serious hunter knows that a stand set up can be so personal that it is no laughing matter. From height levels, wind directions, back cover, comfort levels to the ease of getting in and out of the stand for maximum safety. Serious hunters just do not waste their time taking risks while hunting extremely smart trophy animals. PLEASE NOTE!!: EACH AND EVERY ONE OF OUR PRESET STANDS ARE THE PERSONAL PROPERTY OF BACKWOODS WHITETAILS OUTFITTERS AND ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE MOVED, MODIFIED OR ADJUSTED IN ANY WAY! OUR STAND SITES ARE SET UP TO ENCOUNTER UP CLOSE & PERSONAL SHOTS AT TROPHY WHITETAILS AND THEREFORE OUR STAND SITES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BE TRIMMED IN ANY WAY WITHOUT FIRST OBTAINING THE APPROVAL OF THE GUIDE!! Serious Whitetail hunters should take the time to research all the available types and brands of tree stands that are available on todays market. Each type & brand of stand is designed with different features and is not suitable for all makes and models of hunters. So hunters should visit their local Bass Pro or Cabelas stores and choose amongst the multiple tree stand manufacturers such as Summit tree stands, Big Dog tree stands, Lone Wolf tree stands, Big Game tree stands, Ole Man tree stands, API tree stands, Rivers Edge tree stands, Ameristep, Timbertall tree stands, etc. Hunters looking for the perfect self climbing stand should not over look the Treewalker tree stand. Hunters that perfer to hunt from ground blinds should consider a Lucky's Hunting Blind. The guides of B.W.O. feel it to be the best dam blind available.
